Who is
eligible? Active Membership is open to all women whose own, or husband’s/partner’s income is derived primarily from exploration, development, service and supply, or production phases of the oil industry. Associate Membership is open to friends of Members and will require two Active or Life Member sponsors, with unanimous approval of the Executive Board. What do we do? Our general meeting is held on the first Thursday of each month. During this morning event you will have a chance to meet others over coffee, follow the business side of the meeting and enjoy our main programme, e.g. an invited speaker, a demonstration, a fashion show or a slide presentation. What else do we do? As well as the main meetings, you are also welcome to join us at a coffee morning, held on the third Thursday of each month. Here, within a smaller group, you have the perfect opportunity to meet and get to know each other and be introduced to existing members who can explain the workings of the club. ActivitiesOnce you are involved in the PWC, you will have the chance to take advantage of the many different activities organised by the club. At any one time these may include Bridge, Crafts, a Dinner Club, Golf, Tennis, Ten-Pin Bowling, Quilting, Walking, Morning Movie, Lunch & Movie, Mahjong, Painting and Digital Camera Classes Social occasions are not forgotten as the club arranges evening functions, dances, BBQs, children’s parties, day trips, tours, a Christmas Charity Bazaar and the eagerly awaited “International Festival” – a magnificent celebration of the cosmopolitan aspect of the PWC. On a more serious but equally rewarding note however, the PWC members also raise money for a chosen charity every year. To date more than £140,000 has been raised for various local charities.
