Charity News

    An important part of the Club’s activities is raising money for a local charity. The elected charity for 2011 to 2012 is Aberdeen Epilepsy Appeals Committee. This charity aims to fund two local Field Officers who will support people with epilepsy and help their families and colleagues to understand the condition. Below are some of the charities which the Club has helped in previous years.

*’Give Kids a Chance” was elected to be the PWC charity for 2010 to 2011 and £4,682 was raised.

* Diabetes UK Grampian Voluntary Group was elected to be the PWC charity for 2009-2010 and raised £2,758.97.

* Alzheimer Scotland Drop-in Service Aberdeen was elected to be the PWC charity for 2008-2009 and raised £8,237.33.

* Crossroads - Caring for Carers Aberdeen was elected to be the PWC charity for 2007-2008 and raised over £8,692.18.

* The Friends of Aberdeen Citizens Advice Bureau was elected to be the charity for 2006-2007 and raised £ 8,168.88.

* Laparoscopic Surgery (Aberdeen Royal Infirmary) was elected to be the charity for 2005-2006 and raised £10,271.

* Aberdeen Cyrenians was elected to be the charity for 2004-2005 and £1400 was raised.

* British Heart Foundation (Aberdeen) was our charity for 2003-2004 Club year. £7043 was raised to help fund a portable ultra-sound machine for the cardiology department at ARI.
